![]() ![]() OVERALL - Recommended for high school students or older, male and female alike. It was as if the tape in a cassette recording was getting hung up as it was playing. There was, however, something going on with the recording quality in the third story. ![]() PERFORMANCE - The reader did a great job, especially performing the madness at the end of The Telltale Heart. Makes me wonder about Poe as a person and about his childhood. Poe also seems to have a propensity for his characters to have an evil eye or an eye missing, and his murderers all hide their victims' bodies behind a wall or in the floor. ![]() The stories all revolve around mentally disturbed main characters who commit some form of murder. Thankfully, the description of the cruelty was short and to the point instead of graphically described. The third was very good, especially the ironic ending, but it contains some animal cruelty which I didn't enjoy. The first is The Telltale Heart, which we've all read in high school, and it was my runaway favorite. STORY (classic) - This short audiobook (1 hr, 1 min) contains three of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories. ![]()
